[comp.sys.mac.games] Unwanted interaction between Crystal Quest and Disk Express II

spencer@cgrg.ohio-state.edu (Stephen N. Spencer) (12/18/90)

I recently started playing Crystal Quest after not playing it for about six
or seven months. In the interim I had purchased and installed Disk Express II
on my machine (2.5Meg Mac Plus).

I have noticed that if I fail to turn off DE II before playing Crystal Quest,
the program will move VERY SLOWLY and the disk drive light will light up at
odd times. This usually can be cured mid-game by hitting the Tab key either
two or four times. If I turn DE II off before playing Crystal Quest I do
not exhibit the slowness behavior.

Just a helpful hint, then: If you play Crystal Quest on a machine which has
Disk Express II running, consider turning off Disk Express II from the Control
Panel before starting a new game.

Oh, my high? 4.3 million, level 45 or so.
