A while ago I posted that my SimCity Deluxe (v.1.2c), advertised as working
in color on a IIsi under Multifinder, was in fact functional under Finder only.
I got some followup mail saying that other persons had had the problem I
described ("miniblinds" coming up over the city window and obscuring the
display) in FINDER, but not in MULTIFINDER(!)
At any rate, Maxis tech support asked the usual basic questions (hardware,
system/finder version, etc.)--then the woman I spoke with tentatively suggested
removing Adobe Type Reunion. She sounded hesitant, as though she were reluctant
to mention a specific product by name--but I tried removing ATR, and the
darn game works just fine now.
Well, I'm a publication designer and I sure hate the idea of having to choose
between a really nifty game and a very useful utility, but I look on the bright
side. At least it wasn't Adobe Type Manager...!
Now I have to figure out how to keep the folks in Dullsville from running me
outta town on a rail for my inept management and nonexistent planning.
