[comp.sys.mac.games] SimCity SUPREME, and si color games

SimCity Supreme is basically a more complete package than the original SimCity.
SimCity Supreme is in 16bit color, and the regular version is not. Supreme has
the option to disable disasters, whereas earlier versions of the original don't
have that option (I think an update does have it). Another good thing about
the Supreme is that it is not copy protected, so it can be installed on a hard
drive, and the regular version has some sort of nasty protection. Finally, the
Terrain Editor comes with Supreme, and not the original.

As for other games that work on full screen in color, I have for my 5/80 si,
Leprachaun (I agree, it is a cool game with great color, challenge, etc),
Crystal Quest w/ editor, a good game, full screen, animated 16-bit color,
definitely a must have, Solarian, and Tetris. Even though the sounds and all
haven't changed in tetris, the color makes a world of difference!

In terms of adventure games,QuarterStaff has some great 256-bit color pics
in it and the sound effects arerather enchanting as well, but unfortunately,
that game didn't hold my interest as long as some other adventure games.

I'd be interested in hearing from some others on some nifty color games for the
mac that I have not listed, because I am always in the search...

too bad Test Drive II's not in color

I think you mean 16-color. (4-bit.)

[another mention of 16-bit, probably 4-bit--but I don't know the game.]

Yeah, right. Best color you can get on a Mac is 24-bit (32-bit uses a
byte for special non-color info), which is about as good as the human
eye can use. *Nobody* in the world makes 256-bit color hardware.
Again, you mean 256-color.

Not flaming, just correcting. Don't want you confused (or confusing).
