- Availability: The Sega 3D glasses themselves are a bit hard to come by, but
stores do have them for sale, and Sega still sells them--also, they're
simple (two LED panels, some wire, a jack) and could be duplicated.
- Interface: There is NO MOD to the glasses, only a "black" box costing
at most $5.00 to build-> the most expensive part is the stereo connector,
or maybe the IC, each at roughly $0.30, the only problem is building them
en-mass.
- Connection: They connect through TWO PINS of the modem/printer port on the
original design, our modified one, only ONE PIN, the DTR pin. No driver
is required-it simply involves changing the status of the DTR. You
could feasibly connect it to anything else, but why, if it's so easy.
The design allows for connecting something else (ie the Mattel Powerglove)
to the same interface, so in conjuction with the 3D glasses you have
3D input... (which, again, hasn't gotten anywhere except for some
academic dabbling because of the software.)
