Timothy, I am making progress by leaps and bounds. I should have my act together soon, and I should be able to send this to you. Say a little prayer for me! And for UseNet! I'm trying real hard to get you this program! -- *********************************************************************** * Marc North * "For the final consummation and for me * * 225 - 810 West Broadway * to feel less lonely, my last wish was * * Vancouver, B.C. * that there should be a crowd of spec- * * V5Z 4C9 * tators at my execution and that they * * (604) 731-3575 (data) * should greet me with cries of hatred."* * (604) 733-5091 (voice) * -Albert Camus "The Outsider" * ***********************************************************************

I apologize to everyone out there who wants Phoenix and cannot seem to get at it. A week and half ago I posted a question to this group about getting past a level, and then the barage of letters came my way of people wanting this game. A) The Phoenix is a fantasy style game (sort of) that is based primarily upon funky visuals and audios, based upon Arthur C. Clarke's 2001 and 2010 movies. B) I have a Mac+ and it works well on that. I cannot say how, or if it would work on other Macs. C) I got it from a local BBS here in Vancouver, and I've seen it on other boards around. I have no idea why it might not be so available in the states. D) I have tried MANY times to send it to the people I have promised it to. I have had no luck. E) I am new to UseNet, and to the Unix BBS I'm on to access UseNet, so my inability to send this program might be understandable. F) My last dying wish is that the first person I send this program to, to please post it to an FTP site so that everyone else might have access to this game. G) A note: the complete program is divided into the game and the "HAL" sound files and is almost a Megabyte unstuffed. I don't know if this is why I'm encountering difficulties in sending this mother of a program. I promise to keep everyone abreast of any progress I make in sending this game to any one of you. God knows, I am trying. -Marc North.

I noted with interest, the discussion on a 2001 game called Pheonix. Would it be possible to email a version to me? advTHANKSance Mike -- Mike Reddy, inventor of the famous recursive footnote[1] mike@umist.computation.suna / m.reddy@umist [1] Famous Recursive Footnote (See Footnote [1]).

Couldn't someone post PHOENIX to comp.binaries.mac (or whatever it's called) or put it somewhere where it could be ftp:d from. I suppose I'm not the only one who is interested in this game, but can't find it anywhere. -Ben- WHO = Ben Roimola WHAT = Geology at Abo Akademi University, FINLAND HOW = Internet: BROIMOLA@abo.fi Earn/Bitnet: BROIMOLA@finabo WHY = *** I come in peace! ***
