[comp.sys.mac.games] Phoenix?

a42@mindlink.UUCP (Marc North) (01/24/91)

        Timothy,
I am making progress by leaps and bounds. I should have my act
together soon, and I should be able to send this to you.
Say a little prayer for me! And for UseNet! I'm trying real
hard to get you this program!

I want Phoenix!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know of an ftp-site or BBS where this game is available?? I hear
it is based on the 2001 & 2010 books authored by Arthur Clarke.

Thanks in advance!

I apologize to everyone out there who wants Phoenix and cannot seem to
get at it. A week and half ago I posted a question to this group about getting
past a level, and then the barage of letters came my way of people wanting this
game.
        A) The Phoenix is a fantasy style game (sort of) that is based
primarily upon funky visuals and audios, based upon Arthur C. Clarke's 2001 and
2010 movies.
        B) I have a Mac+ and it works well on that. I cannot say how, or if it
would work on other Macs.
        C) I got it from a local BBS here in Vancouver, and I've seen it on
other boards around. I have no idea why it might not be so available in the
states.
        D) I have tried MANY times to send it to the people I have promised it
to. I have had no luck.
        E) I am new to UseNet, and to the Unix BBS I'm on to access UseNet, so
my inability to send this program might be understandable.
        F) My last dying wish is that the first person I send this program to,
to please post it to an FTP site so that everyone else might have access to
this game.
        G) A note: the complete program is divided into the game and the "HAL"
sound files and is almost a Megabyte unstuffed. I don't know if this is why I'm
encountering difficulties in sending this mother of a program.

I promise to keep everyone abreast of any progress I make in sending
this game to any one of you. God knows, I am trying.

                                        -Marc North.

Couldn't someone post PHOENIX to comp.binaries.mac (or whatever it's called) or
put it somewhere where it could be ftp:d from. I suppose I'm not the only one
who is interested in this game, but can't find it anywhere.
