Wow! The response I got on all this was enormous. Thanks to
Rob, and Mike and Trevor and Steve, and the other guys whose
names excape me at the moment.... Thank you all for your help.
I'd like to borrow your expertise once again, if I may....
To wit:
1. Can the dragon be vanquished? Or is that late in the game?
2. How can I avoid the shark in the lake?
3. Do I need all these weapons I keep finding?
4. What do I do with the coins and rock? I know how tasty
they are. Are they for me?
5. How can I climb the ledge without breaking it?
6. How can I get to the ledge that is out of my reach?
7. What is the foul smelling liquid for?
8. What do I do with the immobile pedastal?
9. How can I survive the fall down the trap door?
Since a lot of you are responding to me, you don't all have to
answer every question. Just pick a few that you can help me
with.
As always, no spoilers, just hints please.

I'll just say that a lot of those are red herrings, but for the shark one, figure out how to walk on the H2O.
