Thanks for everyone's replies. I'll try the screen limiters (I've been pointed to Screener and ScreenMaster, both PD available at various FTP sites and probably your favorite BBS). I have already tried one bit screen depth and, alas, no go. I suspect that indeed, the incompatibilities run deeper. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. shrike@cup.portal.com
