Does anyone know of a Macintosh version of the old Apple II game of Ballistics? You were this artillery battery on one side of a mountain and you had to hit a target on the other side, changing the propellant load to compensate for the mounain height, the wind, and lateral distance to the target. I really loved it and would like a copy to play with. If anyone has any info, I'd appreciate it. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Howard Fore fore@athena.cs.uga.edu (128.192.4.49)

There's a game called Artillery which sounds a lot like what you describe. -- Jeffrey Licht, Jeffrey.Licht@f421.n109.z1.fidonet.org via The Black Cat's Shack's FidoNet<->Usenet Gateway blkcat.fidonet.org and Fidonet 1:109/401

In reply to your request, I found a copy of Artillery 1.0 on GEnie a while back. It operates just as you say, only you are shooting at your opponent. Each person gets one shot at a time. A direct hit is required to win the round. Each round is configured with different terrain in between the two contestants. The gun angle and powder charge are variable and must be adjusted just right to hit the opponent. The program is in color and has fairly good sound effects for the firing, report, and explosion.
