[comp.sys.mac.games] Colour LC Games

zobbo@tharr.UUCP (Ian Cottee) (03/15/91)

I know this subject has been gone through about a billion
times already (and I have already asked once but either my
messages are not getting out into the net or nobody likes me
:-) ) but just to quickly explain why I am asking ...

I am an avid Mac fan who has been using a Mac Plus and SE/30
for the last couple of years. Because of the black and white
of the screen and the fact I have Amiga at home (please - no
more Amiga/Mac wars!) I have not really used the Mac for
games much. I enjoy a good Infocom adventure and of course
Sim City, but apart from that I know very little about Mac
games.

Now I am selling the Plus and the Amiga to help buy myself a
colour LC and seeing as I am loosing the Amiga I would like
to help myself to a few games at the same time to while away
those long winter evenings. However - I immediately have a
few questions about games - mainly concerning their
compatibility but also (of course) their quality. I strongly
object to paying out a lot of money for something which is
duff. This is where you guys and gals come in!

What I would like to know is.

i	What good colour games are available for the Mac. I
know I shouldn't really insist on colour but I
think it makes a lot of difference.

ii	What good colour games work on the LC?

iii	What makes them good? I know this is a kind of
general question but I would just like to know
briefly why people enjoy them - everyone has
different tastes.

Specifically I am interested in Falcon (is this anywhere as
near as good as the Amiga version which I enjoyed a lot),
Citadel (I belive this does work on a LC but does it use much
colour), Solarian II (is there a LC version yet?). Will
Dungeon master ever come out on the Mac by the way. Some body
kindly mailed me a little while back to say it was on the
back burner at the moment - is that permanent?

I have already read so many good things about Sim Earth in
this group that I have ordered that already so don't bother
to mention that one. Mail me direct if you wish and I can
summarise to the net what I have found out.

Thanks very much in advance

Ian
