[net.followup] tvi950 + vi problems.

grg@ihuxq.UUCP (09/06/83)

Most problems of this type are due to a lack of "test", i.e. the terminal
is not initialized to a state that agrees with the termcap definition.
FOr the tvi this includes page sizes, auto-scroll, etc.

The (ucb) program tset will do this automatically via the "is=" string
in Termcap.

Using a tvi950 with 4 pages of memory - has anyone been able
to use vi in such a way that the current screen before entering
vi is restored after exiting ?
Also -- aren't terminals that store attributes in screen ram
brain-damaged...
