Most problems of this type are due to a lack of "test", i.e. the terminal is not initialized to a state that agrees with the termcap definition. FOr the tvi this includes page sizes, auto-scroll, etc. The (ucb) program tset will do this automatically via the "is=" string in Termcap. Greg Guthrie BTL IW 1A444 x7303

Using a tvi950 with 4 pages of memory - has anyone been able to use vi in such a way that the current screen before entering vi is restored after exiting ? Also -- aren't terminals that store attributes in screen ram brain-damaged... -- Marcus (sb1!emory!marc) Emory Univ. Computing Center
