Thank you for all of the responses. A summary follows. A quick note: uunet!outs.ccc.amdahl.com!jpw10 (Jeffrey Witte) would like a copy of the game; If any of you has it on an internet machine, perhaps you could be so kind as to send him a copy? ---WARNING: Spoilers--- The best hints I received were: From: Chris D. Nebel <uupsi!njin!wam.umd.edu!nebel> The bar patrons are just scenery, though you can have some fun with them near the end-game. (The one that says "I only have a twenty," by the way, is a friend of the author's -- whenever we go out to eat, he frequently has nothing but $20 bills.) Hmm. If your list is correct, there's something underground you haven't found yet. Have you thoroughly explored the caves north of the grate? (The thing you're looking for, by the way, helps with the Guardian. You don't need it to kill the Guardian, but you will need it immediately afterwards. (That's a hint on how to destroy the Guardian.)) Also, there's a plate on top of the coin press -- you'll need it later. The coin press is a red herring. The reason for its existence will become clear later in the game. From: Lars-Ove Karlsson <uupsi!njin!sm.luth.se!d86-lko> To get past the guardian you need a source of heat. Then try walking past the guardian. He will then home in on you, now step back to the room with the table and drop your heat source on the floor. That's all!!
