While I don't know the exact details, apparently Conrail upped the insurance requirements for running excursions on its lines this year. I understand that groups have been asked to post a 250,000 bond before Conrail will run a trip for them. Needless to say, we can expect to see trips cancelled, perhaps the first being the Orrville to Pittsburgh trips scheduled for this weekend. Does anyone out there know if the the Buffalo to Corning trips will run at the end of May and June? I believe that is sponsored by an NRHS chapter which may handle the insurance difficulty.
