[comp.sys.mac.games] About the GAMER Project

Bob.Nordling@f13.n396.z1.fidonet.org (Bob Nordling) (06/25/91)

What is the GAMER Project? Well is it a user group staffed by unpaid
volunteers which seeks to promote the entertainment & educational
qualities of the Mac, as well as to promote the well being of the
shareware movement.

We publish a bimonthly disk-based magazine, perhaps the definitive
publication covering entertainment & educational topics on the Mac.
This publication is distributed as freeware over the 6 major
electronic networks throughout several countries. Our members are
mailed 1000k - 1200k of shareware (game/educational software) with
each issue of the magazine, nearly 7000k/year.

We also have a private BBS going online in late July which all
shareware authors (of game/educational software) and official reps
from commercial developers (of game/educational software), as well as
members of the GAMER Project will have access. A couple dozen
shareware authors have already expressed their interest in this
Bulletin Board Service.

Finally, we distribute shareware internationally for shareware
authors (of game/educ.software) over the 6 major information
networks.

If you are a game enthusiast, educator, a parent, or promoter of
shareware, consider joining the GAMER Project. Membership dues are
$15 US/Mexico, $17 Canada, $21 outside N. America. Shareware authors
(of game/educational software) recieve a 50% discount off regular
dues. Outside the US, send an international postal money order. US
residents may send $1.00 (or a SASE w/52 cents postage affixed and
disk) to: GAMER Project, 15 Everglades St., Kenner, LA 70065 for a
membership application, the June issue of Home & School Mac (our
bimonthly magazine), and 1200k of shareware game/educational software
(which is included with each issue of the newsletter)...this offer is
good for 1 sample issue. Indicate size of your Mac monitor.
