So much for my policy of keeping up-to-date system software on my machine! I have an SE/30 with an external color monitor that I use for applications (ie: it has the menu bar). I keep my regular Finder windows on the SE/30 screen to the left of the color monitor. This is a wonderfully convenient arrangement. I often carry my SE/30 to work (w/o the color monitor, of course) so the desktop thinks the windows are offscreen, but on system 6.0.4, the finder is smart enough to bring them up at some default location onscreen. Unfortunately, system 6.0.5 has lost this intelligence, and the windows remain lost off to the left, even after a desktop rebuild. I have confirmed that this problem exists even with no INITS at all. Seems anyone using either a Portable or SE/30 with a second screen would see this problem. What gives, Apple? ======================================================================== Richard Fozzard "Serendipity empowers" Univ of Colorado/CIRES/NOAA R/E/FS 325 Broadway, Boulder, CO 80303 fozzard@boulder.colorado.edu (303)497-6011 or 444-3168
