[net.railroad] Boston & Maine Strike

got@nvuxg.UUCP (R.GOTTESMAN) (05/01/86)

Can anybody tell me if the B&M railroad strike is over?
If not, can someone please tell me when it is over.
I want to take a ride on a few of the lines, but I don't
want to go up to Boston until I'm sure the strike is over.

				Thanks,

Remember, the lines out of South Station are all running; only the lines
operated by B&M are struck (those out of North Station), and not all of
those. There is limited commuter rail to the North Shore, reportedly
permitted by the union because there is no freight running on those lines.

Now they've started in on the poor innocent Canadians by picketing at
Brownville, Maine, where the CP's route across Maine meets the Guilford
system. (Maine's only passenger route.)
