Question about the new font structure with System 7.0: Using a terminal program that has its own built in font, the display is "chunky"... not smooth... guessing that this might have something to do with the new fonts, i changed the font displayed to Monoco... the display was much better... maybe even smoother than 6.0.x. Anyway, my question is whether there will be a conversion utility to change the old fonts to new ones, or will system 7.0 improve on it's ability to handle the old fonts, or is everything going to have to be reinvented (as far as fonts are concerned). - Chris ._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._.._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._._. I'll bet something like SuitCaseIII will do this! Better yet would be an ATM like hack for the machines that will undoubtably be running 6.x even after Sys 7's release due to various reasons (bugs, memory, laziness) that can go out on a network and get a bitmap from a font server (perhaps an AppleShare server?) I think it is also very possible that Apple will put TrueType in a 6.x release, especially if 7 is delayed further. -- | _ /| | Robert Minich | | \'o.O' | Oklahoma State University | | =(___)= | minich@a.cs.okstate.edu | | U | - Bill sez "Ackphtth" |

Of course, those built-in terminal program fonts, although similar to Monaco, DO provide different characters for oh and zero, and eye and el. With Monaco, those are difficult distinctions (impossible) to make. --Adam-- -- Adam Frix via cmhGate - Net 226 fido<=>uucp gateway Col, OH UUCP: ...!osu-cis!n8emr!cmhgate!200.2!Adam.Frix INET: Adam.Frix@p2.f200.n226.z1.FIDONET.ORG
