[comp.sys.mac.system] How can I increase # of open files allowed?

I recently upgraded my IIcx to KanjiTalk 6.0.4 (from 6.0.2.4).Now I often get hit with error -42, too many open files, in relativelysimple situations (MPW, HyperCard, and MSWord open) but I NEVER gotthis error before (even in more complicated situations).  I assume there is something in this new system which is limiting the number of open files to something much lower than the previous system.  What can I do to increase the number of files allowed open??--
