I have a Mac Plus with 2.5Meg of memory and when I spent 2 days uploading the required stuff from MacCircles for system 6.0.5 it showed the same symptoms. However, I let it go on for about 1 hour before I switched back to my trusty system 6.0.3. I still have finder 6.1.5 and it seems to work fine, no crashs or erronious Bad Disk errors. It seems that system 6.0.5 does not like our lowly Mac Plus machines! Before I changed systems, I spend that 1 hour running several checks on my system, booting without inits, booting with minimum inits, checking for viri with Disenfect 1.8 and also testing my hard drive. All of those tests turned up no problems. The time when the problems showed up most, however, was when I tried to copy files from the hard drive to disks or other folders, I received an error #10 and the machine froze. As far as I am concerned, 6.0.3 is as far as I need to go for any system upgrades from now on! It is truely unfortunate that the mac, such a pricy and good machine, is forced to work with software (system software of all things) that causes problems. If you believe this, of all the games that I have purchased only one has problems, and of all the problems that I have had, I have usually been able to correct the problem by replacing the system file with a unused copy from my 6.0.3 instalation disks! -- Kevin Hill - via FidoNet node 1:125/777 UUCP: ...!sun!hoptoad!fidogate!161!555!Kevin.Hill INTERNET: Kevin.Hill@f555.n161.z1.FIDONET.ORG
