Last Monday I read in the paper about a strike on the AT&SF over job security issues. The article also mentioned that Amtrak was forced to cancel service on several runs over the AT&SF. I was thinking about taking a train trip west in a few weeks on the "Super Chief" line to L.A., but now I'm worried about winding up on a bus or worse for the transcontinental trip. I've seen nothing in the local papers since about this strike, so could some of you out West tell me if any progress has been made in solving this strike? Thanks.

According to the news reports, the strike is over. AT&SF & the unions resolved the problem. I have heard nothing about Amtrack service, but I assume it is being restored. Bob Swenson
