I picked up a flier in the Hoboken Terminal that advertises the following two excursions: 9/27/86 Hoboken to Rutherford Engine 425 and 10 car train Leaves Hoboken 8:30, 10:15, 12, 1:45 $10.00 adult, $5 Child Locomotive on display 3-5 PM 9/28/86 "BACK TO THE FUTURE" Hoboken to Dover and Return Leave 11 am out 425, return M&E ARROW Car $20/$10 Anyone know what an M&E ARROW Car is? -- You are Beautiful, Dick Rickert my manufactured love;- AT&T CPL but it is only Svengali, Indy, IN talking to himself again. It was GREAT!!! Even the 1912 vintage old Lackawana MU coaches were slick.
The steam excursion from Hoboken to Dover today on the
Blue Mountain & Reading 425.
And for anyone who missed it, or couldn't go, NJ Transit will be running
another steam excursion next year, as it was so popular. One of the BM &R
operating crew leaked that they will be running the BM & R 2102 4-8-4 sometime
after next Spring (after March). Apparently the 425 4-6-2 had some trouble
on the 3 degree grades on the Boonton line and even had to make an uncheduled
stop for a lub job because of excessive rod knock, so they decided to use their
4-8-4 next time and that was met with much excitement at the prospect.
Let's hope it comes off without a hitch.
