[comp.sys.mac.system] OnCue and MultiFinder 6.1b9?

czychi@ethz.UUCP (Gary Czychi) (09/05/90)

Hi there,

I've been just checking out OnCue Demo V.1.3 from ICOM Simulations and find
it a very good utility.

However, I've installed MultiFinder 6.1b9 on my machine so that OnCue mixes
up the installed DA's with my applications.

Somewhere I have read that there is a new version of OnCue (Demo) which can
handle that. (Or is there a patch which I can apply?)

Thanks for any help,

Gary

You need to go into OnCue Preferences and uncheck all the MultiFinder
options (I don't remember what they are). This is when using MF 6.1b9,
not MF 6.0.x.

In the real live On Cue (I don't know about the demo), there is an option
(normally on) that says "Insert Application Switching Menu". You need to
turn this off in order for it to work correctly with MF 6.1b9. I don't find
this to be a major problem, because the 6.1b9 MultiFinder puts the list of
active applications at the top of the DA list under the Apple menu.

I don't know of a newer version of On Cue that "fixes" the problem (probably
because the 6.1b9 MF is not a "general" release). I suspect that the
forthcoming On Cue II (which is overdue) will not have this problem.

If you turn off the application switching menu under OnCue`s
preferences menu, you will eliminate the problem that you
are having with the beta MF.
