Does any body know a utility called DOS Mounter which lets a Macintosh with a superdrive read a MS-DOS format disk just like a regular Mac disk, so that you can see files represented by icons, open files directly..., I think it is different from Apple File Exchange. Are there any other similar softwares available? Thanks I will summarize and post the results if there is enough responses. Xiaowu Dept. of Chemistry Penn State Univ.

It is significantly better than Apple File Exchange, and I can't begin to say how much better it is than the serail cable was. Its only problem is not really its fault. Lines in text files on the mac end in CR, but they end in CR LF on the PC. One can't expect DOS Mounter to do this conversion, but it is a pain to deal with. There is a demo available on sumex. I use the real one at work, and the demo at home. -- William C. DenBesten is denbeste@bgsu.edu or denbesten@bgsuopie.bitnet
