Thank you to those who had time to respond to my request for the exorcism of the folder from hell. Allow me to summarize what was done to remove the folder: The suggestions on the net (regarding some previous discussion going on in this group) refered to expanding the amount of memory the finder has available. I tried this; extending the finder memory up to the 2.5M of available RAM in my Mac (less the space for System 6.0.2). Of course this did not work. What I ended up doing was creating a macro (using MacroMaker) that opened up as many folders as the finder would allow. The macro then trashed the folders that were opened in the previous step (about 15 levels). The macro was recursive, and repeated the above steps until it reached bottom. This took about 2 hours. By my best calculation, the folder from hell was about 2300 levels deep. But it was no match for the Macro From Hell! -- [ Gregg Yedwab @ Motorola Microcomputer Division, Hauppauge, NY 11788 ] [ UUCP: {rutgers, mcdapps, mcdchg, mcdcup} mcdhup!greggy ] [ greggy@nyc.mcd.mot.com Voice: 516-361-7000 ] [ I represent merely myself! ]
