I just installed an 8*24 GC video card in our Mac II/FX system, and when I checked the system memory size (in About Finder), it showed that the system was using about 12 megabytes of memory (out of 24). One of my colleagues said that he had seen this happen before, but didn't know the cause. I've tried everything that I can think of short of taking the card out, including reformatting and restoring the system disk from scratch, and still cannot find what is taking the space. It makes no difference whether the 8*24 GC startup document is on the machine or not. Nor does turning the RAM cache off result in any significant changes (only what would be expected). Has anyone experienced problems of this sort with the IIfx or the 8*24 GC card? -- Timothy VanFosson E-mail : timv@ccad.uiowa.edu Senior Systems Analyst US Mail : CAD-Research University of Iowa 228 ERF Phone : (319) 335-5728 Iowa City, Iowa 52242
