I understand pretty much how TrueType would fit in as far as font rendering goes, but doesn't PostScript cover all graphics? That is, would PostScript still be necessary to print and/or display graphics, or is this what TrueImage does. Do Illustrator and Freehand translate PostScript when displaying onscreen? How would they be affected? Is QuickDraw good enough to handle graphics? I gues what I'd like to know is: Given that there is alot of discussion concerning TrueType and fonts, why is there none concerning TrueType/Image and graphics, when graphics make up quite a large segment of Mac functionality as well? Or is this a non-issue? I suppose it is a non-issue since Apple aligned with Adobe again, but I would think that any font-rendering system supported by Apple and Microsoft would eventually (and probably quickly) overcome even an immensely ingrained PostScript. If anyone can answer some or all of these questions, I'd certainly appreciate it. Comments are encouraged as well. Thanks -Patrick Internet: 6600patb@ucsbuxa.ucsb.edu
