a Two questions have arisen following an upgrade from an SE 1/20 to a IIcx 5/40 with an 8-bit color card: 1. Is there any advantage to using the 32-bit QuickDraw utility? Any reason not to use it? 2. Is the IIcx modem port electrically different from the SE modem port? (I checked the pinouts--theyUre the same.) The reason I ask is because the Novation Parrot 1200 bps modem that works fine on the SE doesn't work on the IIcx. It won't dial: it goes offhook, but that's as far as it gets, and I have to cancel. The Parrot gets it power from the modem port. I believe the port is OK, because I can plug in an ImageWriter and print. I'm baffled. advTHANKSance -- bobhall@techbook.COM ...!{tektronix!nosun,uunet}techbook!bobhall Public Access UNIX at (503) 644-8135 (1200/2400) Voice: +1 503 646-8257 Public Access User --- Not affiliated with TECHbooks America Online: RobertHall
