Hi Netters ;-) Just an article for a friend of mine. He is leaving in Netherlands and recnetly purchassed a RasterOps 204 video card from an American dealer (no names). He's using a IIcx with 8 MB RAM, no HD and 2 SyQuest removables HDs with system 6.0.4 US. The problem is that after replacing the common Apple video board by the RasterOps the screen flicks with slight horizontal lines going up and down dimming and brightning sucessively. Very annoying you can't look at the screen more than 10 sec. When he plug again the Apple video card the screen is OK : sharp, fresh and crips, no more flick ! So, has everybody do in such case he sent back the RasterOps board for a brand new one : "they" send him a RasterOps 208 but unfortunately there's nothing to do the monitor driving him banana ! So please ! is there anybody from RasterOps on line ? What can we do in such case (even hardware hacking is welcome) can it be the power frequency used in Netherlands which is not compatible with the RasterOps video board ? Strange problem waiting for not-so strange solutions ! Of course, if there's interrest about such case I'll summarize later ;-)
