[comp.sys.mac.system] 6.07 and DATAdesk 101 keyboard IS APPLE LISTENING????

deh7g@newton.acc.Virginia.EDU (David E. Husk) (11/28/90)

This has been brought up before (by me and others). Anyway
since switching to system 6.05 and now 6.07 my datadesk 101 keyboard
has been double, triple, quad. etc typing. This only happens every
now and then. The extra letters also usually take .5 to 1 sec to
show up. Is anybody at APPLE listening? If other people who have this
problem send me summarys I'll post to the net and call datadesk again.
P.S. Datadesk has been very helpful.

I use a DataDesk 101 conneceted to a Mac Plus. I ran 6.05 from when
it came out until 6.07 came out and have been running System 6.07
since then. I have never had a problem with keys repeating as you
have described (never had any problems). Do you use the macro
software that came with it? I do not. If you do, try taking it out
of your System Folder and see if that is what is causing the problem.
This keyboard even worked under System 7.0b1.

Maybe its interesting for you to know:
I too have a Datadesk 101 keyboard but have no problems with double
characters. I have a Mac512E and i'm running system 6.0.7 for a while
now.
The only problem I have with the keyboard is at poweron. My keyboard
doesn't work until I unplug it for a second. After that I've no more
problems.

Cheers,
		Eric
