[comp.sys.mac.system] Hosed Mac+

Help!
I was using my 14 month old Mac+ last week (with a 2400 baud modem and
800k external floppy) and just as I logged off of a mainframe session, the
thing stopped, the screen went black and after failing to restart I got a sad-
Mac code (020020 to be exact). The service places near me only want my money,
they won't tell me up front what is wrong or what the code means. Has anyone
else had this problem? Does anyone know what the code means? (I just don't
want to be sold a new motherboard when all I really need is a new SIMM).

I see some applications for the Mac to decode the sad Mac code but,
obviously, they are useless with a non-working Mac.

I have lots of IBM experience but little to no Mac experience, so I know
my way around pretty well. I would be much abliged for some help.

You can e-mail to me at the following BITNET address (I don't have the internet
node address handy): AI4CPHYW at MIAMIU.

Thanks again.
