Hi, I'm currently doing a rather large database project in FoxBase+/Mac. I'm running FoxBase+/Mac 2.01 Multiuser on a Mac IIcx with 4MB RAM and system version 6.0.5. At a certain point I get a "Too many files open message" while attempting to open yet another database. I suppose I have hit the pre-system 7 limit of max open files. I have tried to use ResEdit 2.1 to change this max number of open files, but did not find where the parameter resides. So if anyone knows where it resides, and if the patch is Multifinder compatible, I would be delighted to hear from you. Please mail to ldb@chyde.uwasa.fi. Thanx loads! Greetings from (finally) white Finland

Using some kind of a disk block viewing/editing tool, you may change this numberr to whatever you want. I don't know if any limits exist, I have never needed to mess with this. I also don't know what the offset is of the location of this number on the boot disk. If I remember correctly, some Finder resources also contain this number. Maybe LAYO resources (layouts)? Hope this gives a few clues...
