rc3h+@andrew.cmu.edu (Ross Ward Comer) (01/25/91)
I am trying to get SingleShare v0.9b11 running on my SE/30 (4M RAM) without success. I have followed the directions very carefully (run as an application under Multifinder, installed Desktop Manager, set files to over 20 using Suitcase, set up users, groups, and folders, Appletalk v53, etc) to no avail. The server appears on the network and users can log on with the correct passwords (or guest logon). The problem is that after selecting the volumes to mount and pressing Return (or just double clicking), the folders never mount; nothing appears under the disk icons previously there. The user is put back to choosing a server. No error, no message, no volume. Other servers (real Appleshare servers and Singleshare) mount without problem, therefore the problem must be on the server side. One interesting thing is that if a folder is selected as a startup volume, a "(foldername) needs minor repairs" dialog is displayed on startup. Clicking either Ok or No does nothing. Anyone have any suggestions (System 7.0b is not a correct answer :-)? Thanks in advance. ross ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ross Comer | ARPA: rc3h@andrew.cmu.edu PO Box 262, CMU | Bitnet: rc3h@andrew.cmu.edu Pittsburgh, Pa. 15213 | UUCP: ...!harvard!andrew.cmu.edu!rc3h ------------------------------------------------------------------------

I haven't tried it, but you might want to pick up the latest version 0.9b16 available via ftp from iraun1.ira.uka.de in the pub/mac directory. ------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Henry M.
