[comp.sys.mac.system] uudecode available from sumex-aim

gentner@Apple.COM (Don Gentner) (01/30/91)

Several people have asked about uudecode for the Mac.
There is a uudecode utility for the Macintosh called UUTool 1.2. It is
freeware and was written by Bernie Wieser. It is available for
anonymous ftp from sumex-aim.stanford.edu
For those unfamiliar with ftp, here is roughly what you do. Assuming
that you are on a machine connected to the Internet, type:
	ftp sumex-aim.stanford.edu
[login with the name "anonymous" and your mail address as
	the password]
	cd /info-mac/util
	get uutool-12.hqx
	quit

The ls command also works in ftp, so you can look at the available
files. If this procedure doesn't work, consult your local guru.
                        Don
