I've tried a couple of times to download 6.0.7 system software from apple.com (I know, I know, but I HATE my apple dealer) and I would download diskcopy 4.1 with it. The program crashes regularly, with much flourish. It also refuses to recognize my HD, which has the 5 or so 860K disk images I want to load. This is my system configuration: MacPlus, int/ext 800K, ext CMS 30MB with SilverLining driver, 4MB 100ns RAM (Eugh). Am I missing something? Is this program supposed to work? Is there a work- around if this is a common problem? Scott Degnan is dragonvi@{milton,byron,hardy,blake,<unix,vax1,max,maven,<vms}.u.washington.edu

I had the same problem. I solved it by putting diskcopy on a floppy
with a system folder and booted with that. Then I was able to get to
the images on my hard disk.
I also found that the cdev "diskmounter" (name maybe incorrect) worked
fine for me. You can get it from America Online in the
developer's/Apple section. It is a cdev that lets you mount diskcopy
images as floppies. This worked great with the Silverlining driver.
