[comp.sys.mac.system] MacX 1.0.1 and 7.0

paf@nada.kth.se (Patrik F{ltstr|m) (02/06/91)

Has anyone tried to run MacX 1.0.1 together with System 7.0b1 (oct -90)?

What I have:
	MacIIsi
	Apple Ethernet Card
	MacTCP 1.0.1
	Network 2.2b1
Ethertalk 1.1 (We don't run phase 2 yet...)
	MacX 1.0.1

NCSA Telnet 2.3.1 (MacTCP-version) works fine together with the
version of MacTCP I have. The nameserver works fine also.

BUT when I tried to install MacX I had some problems. 7.0 already
contains communication Toolbox, so I only added the MacTCP tool to
the extensions folder (not the Communications folder in 7.0).
And MacX started but didn't want to start the nameserver functions
in the MacTCP-tool.

Then I reinstalled an old version of communication toolbox, the one
that is contained in the MacX distribution, and put the
MacTCP tool in the Communications Folder (!!!!!), but the same error.

Is it another clue that I have not discovered yet? or do I need some
new MacX-installation-programs... or what is happening?

I have been running MacX on several different Macs on system 6.0.x,
and have not had any problems so far. But now?
