I am looking for a list of what the various resource abbreviations mean. Some of them are obvious, but many are not. Does anyone have any suggestions? Would Inside Macintosh be one source, or is there a central list of resource definitions somewhere, like at apple.com?? Many thanks for any and all info, Michael Freedberg User Services, Software Training UNC@Chapel Hill mikef@next1.mscre.unc.edu or mikef@samba.acs.unc.edu

Your best bet for the standard resources is Inside Mac. After that, there really isn't any help. Once upon a time, I think Apple was registering these things but I don't know if anyone is bothering any more and of course, everyone writing Mac code can invent their own. BTW: Apple has reserved all resource types made up of all lower case letters (they also have reserved some of the original call caps types too but those are listed in IM) so if you are curious about an all-lower case type, IM might be able to help. -- Jim Spencer - via The Minnesota Macintosh Users Group UUCP-Fido Gateway UUCP: ...uunet!tcnet!kksys!edgar!mmug!22.510!Jim.Spencer INET: Jim.Spencer@p510.f22.n282.z1.mmug.edgar.mn.org
