The following is a phenomenon I've been noticing for some time and have been curious about. (Note: I'm running a Mac SE/30, 2 MB RAM, and about a screen rowful of INITs: ATM, Suitcase II, Disinfectant INIT, Boomerang, etc.) The problem usually only shows when I have been using the system for some time & making heavy demands on it (i.e., lots of open windows, etc.). I find when I quit from an application to the finder, as the finder displays the various directory windows on the desktop, rectangular patches of gray will get overlaid on the windows in various places, most typically towards the left edge of the screen. They are usually gray bars about 10 or 15 pixels high. This may be only a cosmetic problem, or it may not; I'm tempted to say that I've noticed more system crashes happening after this has occurred, but I'm not sure if that's really true or not. Has anyone else noticed the same behavior? -- ---- Seth Tisue USMail: c/o Plaster Cramp Press ---- (tisu@midway.uchicago.edu) P.O. Box 5975 "Please to be restful.
