I thought I would share with everyone the reply I got from Mark Johnson (mjohnson@apple.com) when I enquired about when the /dts directory will be opened (the one at birc-a-brac.apple.com, not the one at apple.apple.com, which is already open and has been for some time) Also, the fact that he says it will be down for a couple days is important, because it will save him from getting a lot of mail wanting to know what happened. Since he was kind enough to take the time to reply to me, I thought I could return the favor by distributing his reply as widely as possible so he won't have to reply to the same questions over and over again individually! :) What follows is his reply... Doug, First sorry about the delay in getting back to you. We are working as we can to get ftp.apple.com up and open, but there are still a few hitches. We will be taking it down in a few days to replace a drive and completely update the content. In addition, we need to modify the ftp daemon. As soon as we have that done, it will be back on line. Thanks for your patience. Mark PS - I should point out that this site is run by myself and a few other helpful employees who are doing it on our own time. With the priorities of Apple and the workload, we don't always get to the FTP site as soon as we like. -- ________________________________________________________________________ Doug Siebert dbert@albert.ai.mit.edu MBA Student (2nd year) The University of Iowa
