[comp.sys.mac.system] MacTools Deluxe Partition and System 6.0.5 under MultiFinder

mike@pyrite.SOM.CWRU.Edu (Michael Kerner) (03/22/91)

Yeah, right, you say. This should be good.
Howdy folks, I have a problem I want to report, but I have already called
Central Point and obtained the solution, all of which I wish to forward to
y'all.

If you are using MacTools Deluxe (either v1.0 or 1.1), and are in MultiFinder,
and you wish to have a program on a partition print, TURN OFF THE BACKGROUND
PRINTING OPTION. Central Point informs me that there is a bug in the
Print Monitor is System 6.0.5 which will crash the system (and for all ye
MacsBug folks, I can honestly say that the only way out is to reboot,
ExitingShell or ExitingApplication will not do you any good. The problem
occurs when the PrintMonitor goes to send your data to the printer, and it
only occurs if the printing application is on a partition.

However, if you upgrade to System 6.0.7 the problem should go away.

Any questions - as always, don't ask me, if I knew what I was doing, I
wouldn't be here.

Mikey.
