I just downloaded the TrueType fonts, etc. last night. Some problems: --- I believe that the new laserwriter driver contains the TrueType rasterizing engine imbedded within (such for the large size) and as was mentioned earlier, when 'postscript file' is selected in the print dialog, the laser prep is appended to the start of the file. Are both of these additions entirely necessary? (Not a bad problem, per se) --- Worse. MS Word 4.0, one line of 24 point times italic, one line of 32 point symbol. They look great on my screen, but when printed with the new Laserwriter driver I get a postscript file _807K_ long. When LaserWriter 5.2 is used, the postscript file is 1K. My question: why does the new laserwriter rasterize fonts that are resident in every postscript printer? This seems to be a problem... And last, it seems that PopChar does not work with TrueType fonts. Sigh... Any words from the more wise about these occurrences? -Marty Berliner Deptartment of Chemsitry and Biochemistry University of Colorado, Boulder
