I have tried TrueType fonts with Word 4.0 and ImageWriter II but when printed the spaces between words dont print correctly (thelineslooklikethis). This happens both in Times and Helvetica fonts. Have you had similar problems? Jari Multisilta The Univ. of Tampere, Finland e-mail:majamu@kielo.uta.fi

You'll also probably want to use the newer ImageWriter driver (v. 6.1) that comes on Macintosh Printing Tools disk (available as part of StyleWriter or Laserwriter LS sets or from apple.apple.com dts/sw-licence) to insure the best compatability with TrueType fonts. Me too! >Make sure, as it says specifically in the TT docs, to have 'Fractional Widths' >checked in Word. I did. It didn't help. I was using the new driver, too. I had the common bitmap sizes of Helvetica installed. I tried printing a document in Helvetica 12 (w/ and w/o Fractional Widths) and in Helvetica 13 (w/ and w/o Fractional Widths). In all cases, the word spacing was incorrect, although the incorrectness was not identical in all cases. Primarily, styled text was affected, though it was not limited to styled text. Richard C.
