OK, I have a question for all you people out there who know more about the ins and outs of System 7 than I do. I'm using System 7.0FC1 on a Mac SE with 20 M hard drive, 2.5M RAM and 1.44M SuperDrive. My problem comes in when I try to move resources in and out of suitcases when I am booted from my hard drive: It won't. No matter what the resource type (I have to date tried this with sound, font, da, and keyboard resources) I get a return of error -192 which (so I've been told) means that a resource is miss- ing from the system. However: When I boot my mac with the same system and finder (as dragged from my system folder on my hard drive to a HD floppy) from my SuperDrive, I can move all the above types of resources successfully and without error. I thought that it might be the combinations of the following inits/cdevs (yeah, I know they're not called that anymore, but old habits die hard) that I'm using, but I've tried them in all possible combinations (there're only 4, so that only made 24 combos, i think) both singly and together with the same re- sults. The inits, etc. that I'm using are: AfterDark, StartUp Desk (which takes your startup screen and makes that into your desktop), and SAM. (OK, that makes three, I guess. I forgot for a moment that I'm not using Boomerang anymore). Well, that's about it. I'm not complaining ('cause Sys 7.0 hasn't been released yet & as rarely as I add/delete fonts, sounds, etc. it's just not worth it). But I'm just curious if anybody else has had a similar problem, and whether anybody has any ideas about what might be causing it. Thanx in advance. If you'd care to mail directly to me, I'll summarize for the net if there's any interest by others with the same or a similar problem. Otherwise it's not really worth wasting the bandwidth.
