Sorry about the bandwidth, but this note is to prevent further misunderstandings... In my post about the slowness of 7.0b4 I mentioned that the Mac Plus runs at 6 MHz. I know all the literature says 8 MHz, but actually the clock ticks at 7.66 MHz or something like that. But the Plus has some unusual hardware in its innards so, as Inside Macintosh Vol III (I believe) says, on the Mac Plus you get an average access rate to the memory of 6 MHz or so. This is why Apple can say the SE runs 25% faster than a Plus even though they have the same clock rate.
