[comp.sys.mac.system] How much memory could a ....

Can someone give me a definitive answer to this question:

How much RAM can you put on a Mac Classic and still have the system
use it. I thought the answer was 4Meg.

But today, someone, who sounded authoritative, said that 7.0 will
allow you to put up to 4Mbyte in each of the two extra Simm slots.
This would allow 10Meg, which would be nice, >if< it were true.
Having heard >nothing< about this up till now, my first guess is to
disbelieve it, and chalk it up to someone being confused, but I want
to verify it.

Thanks for any responses....

Well, according the the official Apple poop sheet (that's be 'p**p sheet'
over on comp.sys.mac.misc :-) on the Classic the answer is 4 meg.

I think your 'authoritative' person was overly optimistic about 7.0.

Cheers,

Alan
