i agree and support your ideas about the 32-bit ROMS. Although i have a mac+, and know full well that i would have no use for such things, i have seen what it is like to be a 95% compatible..and now to be even less compatible. I think, not so much from the point of view of the user, (since i DONT HAVE A II(c)x or an SE/30) but from their marketing point of view. By saying that they will support older machines (something that beefs me), and by continuing their line of "a mac is a mac is a mac...and any mac program will run on any mac", they should acknowledge that a simple upgrade like that could be a marketing coup in that people might consider buying a MORE expensive machine (macintosh) over a cheaper machine (clone) because the company that makes it REALLY does stand behind that machine and is willing to provide (within reason) upgrades to keep that computer that you have sunk $x into a competetive one, that will run the latest and greatest McBomb software. just my $9.95 + 5% tax for residents of Taxachussetts --craig hagan hagan@alpha.ecs.umass.edu
