Even when System 7.0 comes out, I guess most programs won't support AppleEvents (appleEvents, ApplEevents, TM) right away. In fact, I have heard that there really isn't a standard set of events out there. My question is, what types of events might there be? I can see: QUIT, PROCESS-THIS-SCRIPT-IN-YOUR-OWN-SCRIPT-LANGUAGE, PRINT, OPEN-THIS-DOCUMENT, PASTE-AS-EPS, PASTE-AS-PICT, etc. But what about events that are not very common, like PLOT-THIS-TABLE-USING-THE-FIRST-COLUMN-AS -TITLES-IN-A-PIE-CHART? Or do I just totally misunderstand the events? Will programs have to have a knowledgeo of the specialized scripting languages of the programs that they talk to? (I have heard that AppleEvents simply communicate TEXT.) Retiring minds would like to know! Wayne -- Wayne Folta (folta@cs.umd.edu 128.8.128.8)
