[comp.sys.mac.system] using Character Map

I'd like to use Character Map DA, but it quit working for me a few
systems ago.  (I click on chars but nothing happens in my text file).
Is there a newer version or a secret to making it work?  I'd like the
ability to use it rather than PopChar some of the time.
