I got a nice note from a tester at Apple, informing me that my freeware (!) program MandelZot was doing something with the Palette Manager that would cause problems under System 7. I checked, and sure enough... a technique which worked fine under System 6 (and which had, in fact, been recommended by someone in the Palette Manager group) prevented MandelZot's color-animation code from working under System 7. I rev'ed MandelZot and sent back an acknowledgement-and-thank-you message. I've never encountered this sort of un-asked-for support from a vendor before.
