[comp.sys.mac.system] Appleshare and System 7

bordier@imag.fr (Jerome Bordier) (05/16/91)

We have an AppleShare server installed on a Macintosh with System 6.
We can't use this server from a Macintosh running System 7.

What have we to do for using a dedicated AppleShare server from both
System 6 and System 7 Macintoshes on our network ?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Apple did a presentation here yesterday, and the answer we got was :nothing.
The Appleshare protocol is the same no matter what system you are running on
the server. Anyway, if it aint broke, don't fix it.

I apologize.
We had only a (AppleShare) configuration problem under System 7.

Now we can communicate : AppleShare Server System 6 <--> System 7 Client
and AppleShare Client System 6 <--> System 7 Server
