Ok, so I installed System 7.0 and was quite impressed. Then I found that I have problem opening the DAs. When I tried to use the DAs, I get this error message indicating error code -97 or something. 1. What does it mean? 2. What's wrong? 3. How to fix it? I think the problem might be due to my ignorance about Sys 7.0, so excuse me if the solution is obvious. Thanks. ...B.o.b...

It means that some driver is taking up slot 12 in the unit table. In english, this means you have some incompatible INIT installed. SUM Partition init is one of these. Use the Compatibility Checker to find others. BTW, for ResEdit hackers-- SUM Partition INIT can be patched to work-- open CODE 1, search for the second occurrence of 0000 0010. Change that to 0000 0003. Then change the next occurrence of 0000 000C to 0000 0019. This makes it take up slot 25 in the unit table rather than slot 12. It is still incompatible with File Sharing-- Anyone know if 1) 2.1 fixes it 2) If 2.1 is available 3) Is it available as an online update or otherwise free? 4) If not, how much? -- Matthew T.
