I ran across a problem this weekend that I've never encountered before: We had just moved into our new office. I connected our LocalTalk network (running TOPS 3.0 and QuickMail) and plugged my Radius-accelerated Mac Plus into the jack in my office. I had AppleShare 2.0.2 and LaserWriter 5.2 installed, so I activated Appletalk and chose LaserWriter. Nothing appeared in the chooser window. Hmmm.... So I ran Interpol. Sure enough, our LaserWriter was registered on the network from my machine. And I checked the choosers from the other machines in the office; all of their choosers registered the LaserWriter correctly. I reinstalled all of my system software and tried again. No luck. Still nothing in the chooser, yet Interpol registered properly. TOPS, QuickMail, and DataClub all worked perfectly, and Interpol indicated that nothing was unusual. So I copied a Laser Prep file from one of the other computers (all SEs, SE30s, LCs, and SIs) into my system folder and tried printing a document. It found the printer and printed without any difficulty. But it's name still won't show up in the chooser. Any ideas? I'm fresh out.... -- jkain@bronze.ucs.indiana.edu F7 d+ m++ b- r-- s++ e- h c
